Welcome to my Schleppi space!  Let me tell you about myself.

 

A couple years ago, I had an epiphany: The only regrets I had in life were the risks I hadn't taken.  I made the choice to live life to the fullest - to reach for my dreams and make them happen.

 

Lorilee and I both share a passion for Mustangs.  We love the early (1964 to 1966) models, but when Ford introduced the retro look in 2005, we knew this was the car for us.  The license plate on our red Mustang GT says it all: YEEHHAW.

 

We also share a love of roller coasters, and we never pass up an opportunity to visit an amusement park (we got engaged at Knott's Berry Farm).  Our favorite is the Mecca of the coaster world: Cedar Point.  They have more roller coasters than any other park in the Country.  We’re even card-carrying members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts club (ACE).

 

Another passion is Michigan football.  With the exception of one brilliant cousin, my extended family all root for Ohio State.  Emotions run high the weekend before Thanksgiving (that's when the Michigan-Ohio State game is played).  Things haven’t gone well for the Wolverines the past few years.

 

A redneck at heart (I was born in Texas), I am also a NASCAR fan.  My favorite driver is Mark Martin.  I've been fortunate enough to attend races at Daytona, Michigan, Darlington, and Pocono.  One of the greatest experiences in my life was attending the Firecracker 400 in 1988.  As a guest of Ford (the official tractor of Daytona International Speedway), I was allowed full access to the garage area where I met many of the drivers.  I even got to take a ride in one of the service trucks as they dried the track following a rain squall.  Even at 100 mph, the 31 degrees of banking had me sliding across the bench seat of the truck.
